On a clear day, the summits of Pyhätunturi can be seen 50 kilometres away. The Sotsonportti scenic viewpoint also offers an outstanding view of the surrounding landscape.
Roughly a 15 minute drive from Kivitunturi is the Wilderness estate of Tarkkala (www.korvatunturi.fi), which is a cultural-historically important homestead preserved from the time of the Lapland War and an example of Finnish wilderness life from years past. Visitors are welcome to explore the site on their own.
