Things to Do and See in Kilpisjärvi Visitor Centre

Exhibition about the fell nature in the Kilpisjärvi visitor centre.

On the Edge of the Caledonides

The visitor centre's exhibition introduces life in Yliperä and the natural world of the Käsivarsi high-fell area, which is unique in Finland. The fell nature in Kilpisjärvi is especially diverse. The history of Kilpisjärvi Village has been eventful, and the Lappish War still leaves its mark on the area to the present day. The Sámi people of the Käsivarsi area continue to maintain a strong reindeer-herding tradition.
